STAY AWAY FROM PLANNED CAUCUS MEETING AT OSHIOMHOLE’S HOUSE, EDO APC TELLS MEMBERS

The suspension handed down to the former Edo State governor and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole by the party in his home state, Edo, may have taken a new turn.

In a letter signed by the State Chairman of the party, Anselm Ojezua, members of the party in the state have been directed to stay away from a planned South-South Zonal Caucus Meeting billed to take place at the Abuja home of the embattled leader Thursday November 28, 2019.

The meeting, Edo Reports learnt, was called to procure and pass a vote of confidence on the National Chairman, who is currently at daggers drawn with his successor in the state, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.

Ojezua noted that the meeting was called without due consultation of the leaders of the party and therefore could not enjoy any legitimacy.

The letter reads in part: “Our attention has been drawn to a notice of meeting of members of the South-south caucus of our party scheduled to take place at the private office of the suspended National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. 

“Members are by this medium advised to ignore this notice and refrain from attending the meeting which was called without due consultation of the leaders of our party in the zone.

“It has been learnt that the purpose of this meeting is to procure and pass a vote of confidence on the embattled National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, among other sinister motives. This is in spite of the series of “No Confidence” votes earlier passed by all the relevant organs of the party in his home state where it matters the most.”

The State Chairman thus stated that a proper meeting of the caucus members within the boundaries of the South-south region of  Nigeria would be convened in due course, after due consultation with the leaders of the zone.
