NIGERIA AT 60: OBASEKI SALUTES BUHARI, SAYS NIGERIA MATCHING TOWARDS ACTUALIZING GREATNESS

 


The re-elected governor of Edo state, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, has saluted the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, and the people of Nigeria, on the occasion of the nation’s 60thIndependence.

In a stamen he personally signed, Obaseki noted that as Nigerians celebrates the 60th anniversary of their great nation, he wishes to salute all Edo citizens and Nigerians, who have continued to work towards actualizing the vision of a truly great and prosperous country.

He also used the occasion to rejoice with the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, on the auspicious occasion.

“As we celebrate the 60th anniversary of our great nation Nigeria, I salute all Edo citizens and Nigerians, who have continued to work towards actualizing the vision of a truly great and prosperous country.

“I also rejoice with the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, on this auspicious occasion,” Obaseki said.

He added that despite the nation’s travails and challenges as a country, there was need to give thanks to Almighty God for preserving Nigerians as a people and ensuring that the labour of the nation’s heroes past has not been in vain.

On the just concluded governorship poll in Edo State, Obaseki noted that the election was an evidence of the commitment of the government and people to the deepening of the nation’s democracy, which invariably represent the instrument for the upliftment of Nigerians and improving their collective wellbeing.

“We are confident that after 60 years of nationhood and having surmounted numerous obstacles and uncertainties, our faith in the future of our country remain unwavering, as we continue to forge ahead as one indivisible and prosperous nation,” he concluded.
