The government of Edo State has picked September 1, 2021 to announce names of appointees to serve as Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and others in the State Executive Council.

The government of Edo State has picked September 1, 2021 to announce names of appointees to serve as Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and others in the State Executive Council.

This was disclosed by the Governor of the state, Mr Godwin Obaseki, during his state-wide tour recently.

Governor Obaseki also assured Edo indigenes that the appointees, once announced, will reflect credibility, patriotism and development that his government represents.

Reacting to this revelation, a senior chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in the state, who spoke on condition of anonymity, stated that the Governor’s delay in announcing appointees for the government is in line with his vision for the state.

He added that the delay, which has generated condemnation so far, was premised on the need for wide consultation amongst stakeholders in order to have a robust, credible and acceptable appointees that will assist him to deliver on the renewed mandate given him by the electorates, and that the governor was poised to assembly the best brains to deliver in the task to Make Edo Great Again mantra.

Obaseki, and his deputy, Philip Shuaibu, were re-elected for another four-year and final term on 19 September, 2020 on the ticket of the People’s Democratic party, PDP.
